for three years i've been begging andre to please take me on the ferris wheel, but he always seems to chicken out once we get to the gate (he's terrified of heights), not quite sure what changed his mind this time, but i'm glad he agreed because i had the best time taking photographs from the top of the wheel, and to be honest, i'd do it all over again if he asked me.
this was the pacific plunge ride happening right next to us while we were all the way at the top. it was much higher than i'd originally anticipated, maybe because we're high above the pacific? it was a little freaky, i'll admit it.
i also went a little insta-crazy up there.
be sure to visit the santa monica pier if you're ever in los angeles, and definitely grab some cotton candy for me.

amazing photos. truly a gorgeous place! and I'm so excited you guys finally went on a ferris wheel. and yeah it is a teens bit scary :)
Santa Monica Pier is one of my favourite places in the world - you captured it just as I remember it <3
I was just in L.A. and while I did get to the Santa Monica Farmer's Market (and anthropologie of course) I didn't go to the pier :( Too bad, because these photos are glorious!
i haven't been on a ferris wheel in a really long time. the heights scare me now more than when i was a kid. these came out great. i especially love the second photo.
leyla.
just lovely!
I love those pictures but I don't always remember how rickety ferris wheels can be.
we rode that exact ferris wheel on our honeymoon. i'm from saskatchewan, so that much water under my feet is, quite frankly, exhilarating. to the max.
oh I'll be in LA so soon! the 17th, to be exact! very much looking foward to Santa Monica :)
Woah! That shot of the ferris wheel and bird is incredible. Love your work lately, Kim.
it IS fun! cant believe it took you 3 years!
wow! what a view!
