with all this warm weather, it's no surprise i'm always craving fresh citrus drinks. on a regular day, i'll walk with andre to m cafe for the most delicious kale lemonade there is, and sometimes we'll venture off to beverly hills for fresh salads and peach/ginger lemonade from lemonade (wow that was confusing). but the restaurant really is called lemonade! i crave citrus all summer long, so this past weekend, i thought i'd get creative in the kitchen and make a guilt-free limeade to share with all of you.

this is such a simple recipe, and you'll thank me later when you're feeling more refreshed than ever. i normally make a large amount then sip on it all day long.

what you'll need

3 small limes
(freshly squeezed)
fresh mint leaves
3 to 4 cups of water
4 drops of stevia

mix all ingredients together in a large juice pitcher and enjoy!

today's shake features cherries, lots and lots of cherries! it's the best time of the year to over-indulge in cherries. i've been eating, juicing, and adding them to my shakes! i'd eat them all year 'round, but they're just so much sweeter in the summer, and this shake must be enjoyed in the summertime.

i've been obsessing over recipes full of cherries these days, like this recipe for cherry cake doughnuts mouth-is-seriously-watering. trader joes is fully stocked in cherries, so i figured it was time to shake things up with my very own cherry smoothie. let me know what you think, k?

what you'll need for this cherry shake

1 small banana
a handful of hemp seeds
a handful of almonds
lots of cherries
1 tsp of cinnamon
a handful of golden berries
(to give it that extra zing)

enjoy your tuesday!

i managed to put this post together before leaving for vegas, i do hope you like it

in my opinion, a smoothie is by far the quickest-healthiest meal there is. seriously, it takes less than five minutes to create a little something-something full of vitamins and nutrients. this is why adding a smoothie to my daily routine is so easy! sometimes i'm just too busy (um, maybe lazy?) to make myself a meal, so it's much easier to throw everything into the vitamix and drink drink drink.

this smoothie was created yesterday while andre and i were just too busy to make lunch, and to be perfectly honest, these shakes just clear my mind and help me work so much faster. so i highly recommend adding smoothies to your diet.

for this smoothie, you'll need

1 small banana
as much kale as you'd like
small handful of cacao nibs
1/2 tsp of maca
fresh berries or frozen berries
(get creative with those)
1 cup (or more) almond milk

then shake it up

i hope you enjoy this smoothie as much as we do!

if you're a longtime follower, then you're probably familiar with my crazy juicing habits. what can i say, i love juicing my produce, especially with the year-round farmer's market in our neighborhood! i've decided to start a little drink column here at paddle to shore due to all the messages i've received asking me what the heck i'm always putting in my drinks/smoothies. i thought this might be fun for those of you trying to add more fruits and veggies to your diets but aren't quite sure where to start. i'm kicking things off with my go-to green monster.

this everyday green drink has so many variations depending what leafy green you'd like to use. kale is my favourite leafy green, but feel free to use cabbage, romaine, spinach, or collard greens. this is your green drink, so get creative.  you'll thank me in a few weeks when your skin is looking healthier than ever.

for this specific green drink, you'll need

an entire head of kale
half a stock of celery
half a cucumber
some radish
& 1 small lemon (the lemon helps get rid of the bitterness from the greens)

i always take mine to go!
