i've been away

wow! i really didn't plan on taking such a long break from my blog, but things got so crazy over here that it was best to just step away from all of it for a while. and then andre and i flew to florida for a few days then hopped on a cruise ship to the bahamas for 5 nights, and then flew back to LA last night then woke up super early for more work! there is so much going on right now, and i can't wait to update everything!

well, i just posted one of my favorite love sessions yet. erica and michael are such a beautiful/romantic couple. we met up in griffith park as the sun was setting. it was incredibly beautiful to capture. i am so happy with the way these pictures turned out, and i hope you folks like them too! see the full post here

Working with design love fest

first off, this girl is the cutest, really! i've been having such a great time working with bri of designlovefest. we've been running around town together photographing bri's favorite spots, and to be perfectly honest, we've just gotten started, so i'm curious to see all the fun places we get to check out together in the next few weeks. this picture was taken at the Poketo shop in downtown los angeles, have you been? check out the full shoot here and the post bri put together over here. lots of fun stuff still to come!!

i love my job!

i've been working on a beautiful portrait today. i can't wait to share these pictures in the next few days; this couple was absolutely stunning, and we had the best time photographing them in griffith park!

also, i just wanted to add that we're going to be in san diego all weekend, so if any of you are looking for a portrait session, engagement photos, or anything at all, send me a message so we can plan something fun!

Jules

this here is jules, and he just so happens to be joy the baker's mischievous cat. i can promise you that i have never in my life met a cat quite like him. he had me on the floor laughing ... well, almost. i probably would have been on the floor laughing had i not been meeting joy for the first time! this cat defied gravity, the only thing missing was a cape. with a cape on, he'd be the cat version of superman, true true. if joy ever needs a cat sitter, i'll be rushing over to take care of this beautiful monster because he's just that perfect; i want to hug him and squeeze him and give him all sorts of nicknames. he is garfield brought to life, and i love him!



the only picture missing here is the one of jules plunging towards the sofa. i was making him kind of nervous so i stepped away for a minute to let him perform his fancy little tricks. keep rockin' jules!

erin and jeremy engagement

very much in love with this "accidental" photograph andre took of me over the weekend. the light reflecting over us feels completely magical. this not-so-perfect photograph makes the entire culling process that much more exciting! hmm, what else will i find?

inside faire frou frou

sometimes, i take mini breaks from shooting to pretend i'm cruella de vil. hey, it happens!  if you have a minute, here's the full shoot we photographed with alison of faire frou frou boutique. i cannot begin to describe how much fun we had with her, such a great lady, that alison!

Charmed!

i'm spending this afternoon with lisa vorce. lisa is the owner & creative director behind oh, how charming, a full service event design and production company that specializes in events worldwide.  an exciting opportunity for any wedding photographer.

Her 30th BASH!

i was recently hired to photograph erin's turquoise-themed 30th birthday party at the avalon hotel in beverly hills. it was my first time at the avalon, so i really wasn't sure what to expect. andre and i both fell in love with the hotel within seconds of walking in.  it was obvious to us both why erin chose this luxury hotel to be the setting for her 30th birthday bash!



the celebration took place by the pool terrace; erin reserved private cabanas for the evening.  I was pretty obsessed with all the colors erin chose to represent her special day.  the cabanas were decorated
with fresh flowers, balloons, lollipops, and turquoise color-pop EVERYWHERE.



andre and i really like strawberry and raspberry lollipops, so we definitely brought some of those home with us.




the signature drink for the evening was the erinberry mojito. these drinks were a HUGE hit at the party. i may have to make one of these drinks at home, especially with all this hot weather we've been enjoying lately.  recipe, for the erinberry mojito: white rum, sugar cane, lime juice, club soda, fresh raspberries, and mint, get creative with the measurements.





erin was surrounded by her closest friends and family, i felt so honored to be able to attend and photograph such a great night! we've been blogging friends for years, probably since 2009, so it was really touching for her to ask me to do this for her.



and who could forget the birthday cake? a creamy vanilla flavored cake. andre and i definitely kept a full belly while working that night. a definite perk from working a great event.



thank you oliverio restaurant for the delicious food & also erin for spoiling us while we were working. we've been to many restaurants and hotels around los angeles, but this one has quickly become a new favorite.  can't wait to go back for napoletana pizzetta by the terrace pool.
